Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)
When is Summer Camp?
Summer Camp runs from June 9 to August 8, Monday to Friday. There will be no Camp on Monday, June 16, as The Club will be closed for our Annual Staff Family Day.
What are the age groups and timing for Camp?
Camps are catered to the following age groups:
2 – to 4-years-old (9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.)
4 – to 5-years-old (9:30a.m. – 1:45 p.m.)
6 – to 8-years-old (9:30 a.m. – 3:45 p.m.)
9 – to 12-years-old (9:30 a.m. – 3:45 p.m.)
What happens in the case where I am running late for drop-off / pick-up?
You may give Concierge a call at 6737-3411and inform them of your name, Membership number, and message. Your notification will be immediately passed to the Camp or Youth Manager. If your child is registered in Camp and we do not see them by 10:00 a.m. for drop-off then the Counselor-in-charge will call the parents.
What if I am a working parent and need to drop-off my child at camp early?
Yes, you may. Please make prior arrangement with the Camp Manager or inform the Youth Desk during registration. You need to indicate the time you are dropping-off your child/children and a Counselor or staff will be there to greet and look after your child/children.
What is the Camp fee?
Summer Camp charges are based on a weekly basis and for the respective age groups:
2 – to 4-years-old: $264 per week
4 – to 5-years-old: $382 per week
6 – to 8-years-old: $462 per week
9 – to 12-years-old: $580 per week
Are the Counselors trained?
All Counselors will go through a 2-day intensive training with professional instructors and the course will include all emergencies procedures at The Club, First Aid, skills required in managing children of different ages, just to name a few.
Will I get to see the Counselors-in-charge of my child?
Yes, our counselor profiles are available at the Youth Desk for parents to view.
When will my child get Camp premiums (e.g. Camp bag, T-shirt, water bottle)?
Campers will receive their premiums on the first day of Camp. Upon receipt of the premiums, please label your Camp items. Any lost and found Camp items will be kept at the youth store until the end of Camp.
What happens to the daily scheduled program in case of bad weather?
In the event of unfavorable weather, the scheduled field trip / pool-time will be replaced with indoor activities.
Is there any sibling discount?
Yes, for every subsequent sibling registered on the same week, there will be $25 off the Camp fee. This applies to children 4-years-old & above only.
Who are the people who can or cannot register for Camps?
Returning Absent Members
Yes, with a valid returning Absent Member card issued by the Membership Department. Payment will be by credit card. Absent Member will be required to provide the credit card details (type of credit card, credit card number and the expiry date) to the Youth Desk upon registration for Camp.
Returning Absent Members who have not arrived in Singapore
Yes, as long as they have forwarded application form to the Membership department. Not in the situation when they call and have no written validation of re-igniting the Membership.
Visiting Members in the Membership Management System (i.e. - charges through the Membership account)
Yes, for those who have already registered with the Membership Department and have been issued with a valid membership card.
Visiting Members not in the Membership Management System (i.e. - they are settling bills via credit cards)
Yes, with a valid Visiting Member card issued by the Membership Department. Visiting Member will be required to provide the credit card details (type of credit card, credit card number and the expiry date) to the Youth Desk upon registration for Camp.
Visiting Members who have not arrived in Singapore yet
Yes, however you will be placed on the waitlist until written validation from Membership is received that your application has been submitted.
Guests of Members
No, as stipulated by the General Committee.
Reciprocal Club Members
No.
New Members who have yet to receive a Membership card
Yes, those who have made a payment for their Membership to the Membership Department and have been issued with a day pass.
Grandchildren of Members
Yes, as long as the child is visiting and has a social visit pass. The child has to be registered with the Membership department as a visiting grandchild and child’s name will be reflected in the Membership Management System .
What is the ratio of Counselors to Campers?
1 Counselor to 4 kids for the 4- to 5-years-old.
1 Counselor to 5 kids for 6-years-old & above.
Is there any dateline for Registration forms to be submitted?
Our Summer Camp program is extremely popular and we encourage early submission of application forms.
Can children below 4 attend the 4- to 5-years-old’s Camp?
Yes, only if they are 3 months away from turning 4-years-old to join this age group. Same procedure applies for the other age groups (6- to 8-years-old and 9- to 12-years-old).
What if my child cannot attend on any of the days during the week they are registered for?
If your child is unable to attend Camp on any of the days during the week, full Camp fee will still be charged.
Will the fees be pro-rated if one of the days is a Public Holiday?
Camps are not conducted on a Public Holiday therefore fees will be pro-rated accordingly.
What happens if my child is sick?
Please call the Youth Desk at 6739-4313 to inform us that your child is unable to attend Camp on that particular day. Members need to produce a certified Medical Certificate (MC) from a doctor or Hospital by end of the Camp week that they are registered for in order for the charges to be waived.
Do I have to leave down an emergency contact?
Yes, In case of an emergency the Duty Manager / Camp Manager / Youth Manager will call the emergency number to inform of the situation.
What is the cancellation policy for summer camp registration?
- UPON RECEIPT of registration form: 20% of Camp fee (non-refundable)
- Less than one week before Camp: 50% of Camp fee
- Less than 48 hours before Camp commencement: 100% of Camp fee
Where is the venue for drop-off and pick-up for camp?
Drop-off and pick-up for the 4- to 5-years-old years old will be in the Bowling Alley unless otherwise stated. Drop-off and pick-up for 6-years-old & above will be in the Youth Space unless otherwise stated.
Is there a farewell party at the end of camp?
Camps end at 1:45 p.m. on August 8, 2008. The “End of Camp Party” will be held on that day from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Colonial Room. All Camp participants from Week 1 to 9 are invited to the party and we warmly welcome parents and helpers as well.
