Mommy & Me Ballet

For all our little aspiring ballerinas out there, we finally have a class just for you! Mommy & Me Ballet offers you an introduction to the art of Ballet under the nurturing guidance of the instructor and the parent. Studies have shown that one of the best ways for children to explore their world is through movement, music and rhythm. This new program gives you just that, coupled with the grace and fluidity that comes out of the practice of Ballet.

Soccer

This premium soccer experience is for children of all ages. Sessions begin with a warm up which focuses on basic movements that help to improve coordination, reaction & awareness. They then master basics like dribbling, passing, and shooting. Sessions then end with a mini soccer game to allow participants to utilize their new skills and experience healthy competition.

English & Mandarin Speech & Drama Workshop

Join us for a very special workshop in English and Mandarin Speech and Drama with Helen O’ Grady Children’s Drama Academy. For over 30 years, Helen O’ Grady’s acclaimed programs have been helping children develop enthusiasm, confidence, self esteem and all important verbal and social skills. Through dr ama, rhymes and music, your child will develop the skills and confidence to articulate their thoughts and ideas, not just in English, but now in Mandarin as well.

This introductory workshop will give your child a taste of the English and Mandarin curriculum taught at Helen O’ Grady’s established academy. This workshop is all about interaction, movement, creativity, communication and of course, loads of fun!

Super Hero Manners Power!
Let your child become their own version of a superhero by learning the super things they can do each day to be a manners hero. Helping people, being considerate of others, telling the truth are all wonderful social skills that emulate the behaviour of the heroes we look up to.

Attitude of Gratitude
Being grateful and appreciative for the things one receives is a sure way to stay positive. This class covers the basics of thanks, appreciation, positive language, compliments and congratulations. Kids will learn how to write a simple thank you note.

Funtime Playgroup

Join us on Monday mornings for music, movement, story time, playacting and crafts with Funtime Playgroup! This parent-child class is the perfect way to motivate and bond with your child, develop key motor skills and creativity, and to make new friends in a positive and fun environment.

With about 14 years of teaching experience, Miss Huzzy is the perfect facilitator for these sessions that focus on the connection between a parent and a child, and the social aspects of learning.

Hip Hop

Hip-hop dance has evolved out of hip hop culture and encompasses the choreographed dance styles primarily danced to hip hop music. This includes a wide range of styles notably breaking, locking, and popping.  Classes are fun and challenging and participants will groove to the latest R&B, hip hop and funk music while learning everything from the hip hop walk to the different styles of old and new school hip hop.

Youth Kickboxing

Kickboxing combines boxing and kicking techniques adapted from other forms of martial arts such as Muay Thai and has developed into one of the most popular Group X sports today. Apart from gaining skills in self defense and strength, it also improves coordination and boosts confidence.

Taekwondo

Taekwondo is a Korean traditional martial art turned modern international sport. Practitioners of Taekwondo are taught various forms of “Poomse” (stances interconnected with blocking, punching, striking, thrusting, and kicking) and “kyoruki” (sparring) developed through training with a partner. This is a wonderful martial arts skill for children to learn, as it instils values such as knowledge, skill and attitude. Classes are taught by Master Patrick Tan, a certified international Taekwondo Instructor with more than 30 years of experience, and resident instructor for The American Club since 1982.

Karate

Karate is the art of unarmed self-defence focusing on kicks and punches, rather than wrestling and throwing manoeuvres. There are 3 vital elements to karate: speed, strength, and technique.

Classes are taught by Mr Tan Soo Lin, an internationally qualified professional coach with over 27 years of karate experience. He has extensive coaching experience with all age groups, nationalities and cultures, and instils self discipline, positive attitude and a high moral purpose in all of his students.

Aikido

This Japanese martial art, which focuses on controlling your opponent without using punches or kicks, boosts physical health and confidence. As it is not a competitive martial art form, techniques learnt through training with a partner rather than an opponent also develop the social skills of participants.

We are privileged to have Sensei George Chang as our resident instructor. With 40 years of experience in Aikido and a 6th Dan Black belt, he is regarded as one of the highest ranking Senseis in Singapore.

Ballet for Tots

This is the perfect class for 3 - 4 year old children who love to move to music. They will learn basic dance steps and gain an introduction to the beauty and grace of Ballet. Watch your little ones stand on tippie toes and learn the bunny hop in this fun and enjoyable class.

Ballet Pre-Primary/ Primary/ Grade 1 & 2

These are the stepping stones into the world of Classical Ballet. Classes are based on the Royal Academy of Dancing Syllabus (United Kingdom) and the Commonwealth Society of Dancing Syllabus (Australia). Children will learn basic steps, ballet terminology and little combinations. As children progress to Grade 1, they will be introduced to barre work and character work that will add more variety to the class.
