Chosen Title: Ella Minnow Pea

Ella Minnow Pea lives on the island of Nollop, named after the author of the pangram “The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.” When letters fall from his memorial statue, the Council bans their use, and as language disappears, so do the islanders’ freedoms, with the novel itself dropping those letters along the way. Witty and poignant, it follows one young woman’s fight for freedom of expression.

A Romanian native who grew up across continents, Mihaela never lost touch with her roots. Moving to Singapore, she could recreate Romania’s food and atmosphere, but not its wine. This inspired her to found Carpathian Flavours, bringing wines that tell a story and reflect the true spirit of her homeland. Join her as she shares her journey and passion for Romanian wines, followed by an exclusive tasting session.

Mihaela Macionis is a mother, wife, and entrepreneur passionate about Romanian traditions, female empowerment, and education. As founder of Carpathian Flavours, she promotes Romania’s heritage through cultural events, cuisine, wines, and crafts, while fostering a strong community in Singapore and championing women entrepreneurs.
