The Entrepreneurs Series: Light Up Myanmar

Light Up Myanmar

Join us for an inspiring session with Tang Weng Fei, one of the four greenfield developers who oversaw the creation of a 230MW combined cycle gas-fired power plant in Mawlamyine (ex- name Moulmein) City, Mon State, Myanmar. The 30 year concession agreement was signed with the Myanmar Government in 2013, a year after the US Government's resumption of normal diplomatic relations and suspension of a US investment ban in Myanmar. the completed power plant is now producing enough electricity for 5 million people. Asiatech Energy Pte Ltd received funding from UOB for the project, which was in line with UOB's approach of supporting businesses committed to building infrastructure necessary to drive the region's economic growth.
