The Speakers Series: Junior Edition U.S. Politics with Steve Okun

Steve will take a non-partisan approach to reviewing the candidacies of President Donald Trump and his challenger former Vice President Joe Biden and then will answer a series of questions on the U.S. political process:

- How did each become their respective party's nominee?

- How does the campaign work?

- How do Americans vote, both in the United States and in Singapore?

- How do most Americans decide who to vote for, and how do I get accurate information about the candidates?

- How is the winner declared?

- Why is it that the person who gets the most votes does not always win?

- What is the process for elections for senators and representatives, and for state officials such as governors or state senators and state representatives?
