Many of us are finding more time to inject sports into our daily routines. Some have taken up cycling, weight-training, running, tennis or yoga. But even the most gentle of exercises can cause injuries. Dr. Alan Cheung, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, has seen a steady flow of injured amateur sportsmen and women seek his advice. In this talk, he provides insights into the 5 most common injuries, what causes them and what the treatments are.

About the speaker:

Dr. Alan Cheung is was raised in the UK and trained as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in London, specializing in Sports Injuries. Dr. Alan leads the local medical team for the One Championship mixed martial events in Singapore, and was also the match day doctor for the Singapore HSBC Rugby Sevens 2018. 


He has always been a keen athlete and played for Cambridge Rugby Club as a youth and is currently practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) at Evolve Mixed Martial Arts. He regularly competes in BJJ and has won Gold in tournaments in Singapore and Japan. When not practicing martial arts, Dr. Cheung enjoys golf, cycling and skiing.
